Self-Introduction

I chose to study Japanese because Japanese culture can be intriguing. For instance, I think Japanese martial arts and samurai movies are entertaining. I have also watched anime such as Dragonball Z and Gundam when I was a kid, and I would like to understand the language it was originally spoken in. Japanese history is interesting too, and I like to compare and contrast it with Western history. I hope to visit Japan someday, and I hope to have fun learning the Japanese language.

  1. Cool, I also watched Dragonball Z and a few of the Gundam series while growing up. Have you done or do have any interest in trying a martial art? If so college is a good time to try since there are a variety of clubs here.

  2. I also watched Dragonball Z, along with Pokemon. I think it'd definitely be interesting to learn about Japanese history – the American school system tends to gloss over the development of East Asia, except during WW2. Hopefully we learn more as the class goes on!

  3. Gundam is my favorite! I have watched most series except Gundam 00 and AGE, which I don't think they should be called Gundam. And have you ever watched the Macross series? It's also wonderful too, although a little bit different from Gundam. This summer my friend sent me a Macross Frontier Valkyrie model during her summer program in Japan and it's really cool!

    1. Sorry, I haven't seen the Macross series before. I hear it's good, though.
